He was born in the 1940s to a working-class, second generation Italian family. He was a natural entrepreneur, and he was programmed to provide.
His work ethic was unparalleled, and his professional success was propelled by long days and frequent business trips. And, because of that, we didn’t see very much of him.
But, his life took a turn when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in his 60s. The diagnosis brought a sudden pause to his busy schedule, and deep reflection.
We were sitting together in his Baton Rouge home, when my father looked at me and said softly, “Michelle, I did it wrong. I worked too much and didn't spend enough time with you kids. I’m sorry.”
A private man, he shared his deepest regrets. Realizing the precious moments lost in the blur of time.
Our founder's father was a lighthouse of resilience, and a testament to the sacrifices made for a family’s sake. His legacy speaks volumes of a life lived with purpose. And his story whispers the essence of love and family. And, the pursuit of a life fully lived.
We honor his enduring legacy, today and every day.
Ronald William, 1949 - 2022
Born in rural Iowa in the 1940s, he is a man shaped by the challenges of his time. And he stands as tall as the cornerstone of his cherished family.
He encountered a pivotal moment in the 1980s, when the air traffic controllers’ strike and their subsequent firing, cast a shadow on his career. Through this adversity, his unyielding spirit emerged.
His family became an unwavering source of strength. With his wife and children by his side, they persevered proving that solidarity, love, and partnership could conquer even the most difficult challenges.
He became a champion for equality, and in his home, every voice found a place of resonance, and dreams were nurtured with unwavering support.
Through his faith in the power of family, he transcended his role as provider, becoming a guiding light, paving a path with empathy, understanding, and unwavering support.
Our founder's father in law embodies the very values he holds dear. His influence echoes through generations – his sons, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren - and his legacy of family, unity, and commitment stand strong.
We honor his legacy, today and every day.
